The institutions in the Consortium have a weekly surgery caseload, research expertise, and the support personnel to participate in combined efforts to test interventions that improve outcome after cardiac and non-cardiac surgery.

The Consortium utilizes the expert services of the Duke Clinical Research Institute (DCRI) to facilitate all aspects of its multi-center trial capabilities.
